Bitcoin Rumors in Grand Theft Auto 6: The much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 saw rumors of incorporating cryptocurrency surface more than a year after they first appeared. On Wednesday, an anonymous crypto Twitter celebrity named Gordon shared with his nearly half a million followers that “Grand Theft Auto Wolf 6 will enable cryptocurrency payments,” with “only Bitcoin, Ethereum, and USDT confirmed so far.”
When Twitter users inquired about the source of his information, he jokingly replied that his “uncle works there,” or that previous reports on the matter were “old” at this point. In fact, Grand Theft Auto 6 has not confirmed cryptocurrency. We delved into what has and hasn’t been said in the clash between GTA and cryptocurrency.
Moonray Airdrop Push: The sci-fi arena fighting game Moonray has launched a “play-to-airdrop” campaign, with successful participants eligible to receive the project’s native tokens upon launch. Players must rank in the top half in five matches to advance. Users can also increase their chances of winning by participating in weekly social challenges.
This coincides with the game’s debut on the Epic Games Store, tapping into a user base of 75 million monthly active players. This seems to be a new trend, as crypto games launched in the store are simultaneously rolling out a play-to-airdrop campaign, following recent moves by BloodRoop and Nyan Heroes.
Telegram Upgrade: On Tuesday, Telegram announced the launch of a “mini-app bar” feature for its mobile application, allowing users to swiftly switch between multiple open mini-apps, thus enabling multitasking. This applies to all types of apps built for the platform, including Telegram wallet bots and many games.
The popular messaging app Telegram is in the midst of the crypto gaming phenomenon, spurred by click-to-earn games like Notcoin and Hamster Kombat, which have drawn millions of players to use their “mini-apps.” The feature allows users to fold Telegram mini-apps into a convenient bar at the bottom of the screen, enabling them to switch between chats, apps, and games. It should make it easier for click-to-earn players to hop between various games.

Nintendo confirms it will not use generative AI in its upcoming games. Notcoin and analytics firm Helika launched an accelerator program for Telegram games and games based on the Open Network (TON). Milady NFT holders gathered in the Minecraft world to celebrate their second annual ball. Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov stated that Hamster Kombat currently has 236 million players, dubbing it the “fastest-growing digital service” in the world.
The monster-catching MMORPG Spellborne launched last week, with players able to earn airdrop points through gameplay. Ubisoft’s Champion Tactics entered the closed testing phase. This marks the gaming giant’s first original crypto game based on Oasys. Notcoin’s fresh start revealed more teasing about a collage with Lost Dogs Co. The Telegram game PixelTap just added a new warrior inspired by the Solana meme coin Mew.
