CoinWorld reports:
A former Bitcoin developer has refuted allegations that he is the true creator of Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto, following a documentary by HBO that referred to him as the architect of Bitcoin.
Peter Todd claims that the documentary mistakenly identified him as Satoshi Nakamoto, stating that it is meaningless to know who the founder of Bitcoin is, despite its thriving development. The true identity of the founder remains shrouded in mystery.
“False Allegations”
Todd criticizes the producers of the documentary for accusing him of being Satoshi Nakamoto, calling it a false allegation. He laments that the film has made him the center of public attention, despite his continuous denial of being the founder of Bitcoin.
According to Todd, the HBO filmmaker used the allegations against Satoshi Nakamoto to promote his documentary, stating that the director needed “a way to attract attention to his film.”
Todd criticizes the director for exaggerating the evidence in the film and fueling conspiracy theories about the Bitcoin founder. He explains that he could never be Satoshi Nakamoto as he was busy with his studies and work during the early days of Bitcoin.
Furthermore, Todd claims that he was unaware of the documentary during its development and only became aware of its content when it aired.

The documentary provides evidence implicating Todd as the elusive founder of this popular cryptocurrency. Todd continues to refute the accusation, claiming that he was misrepresented in the film.
Todd Goes Into Hiding
Following the two-hour documentary’s airing, Todd decided to go into hiding, fearing for his personal safety. In an interview, he mentioned receiving numerous emails from people asking him for money. He added that one person even sent him 25 emails requesting assistance in repaying loans.
Considering the harassment the creator of Bitcoin would face, Todd now understands why the real Satoshi Nakamoto chose to remain anonymous.
The Search Continues
With Todd debunking the fact that he is the creator of Bitcoin, the search for Satoshi Nakamoto’s identity will continue to persist and remain a subject of speculation.
Over the years, many individuals have been identified as the creator of Bitcoin, thrusting them into the public eye, often resulting in adverse consequences such as invasion of their privacy.
