▌Stablecoin Rules in EU Cryptocurrency Market Legislation Effective June 30th
The European Banking Authority stated plans to release its final report on how to monitor stablecoin issuers at the end of this month.Tether,Circle,and other major stablecoin issuers will soon face strict regulations from EU.As per new rules effective June30th,the companies not only need proper authorization to operate within trade zones across27 countries,but face strict limits on transaction volumeand value under Markets in Crypto-Assets(MiCA) legislation.Robert Kopitsch,the Secretary-Generalof BlockchainforEurope,statedthat these rules mean someoftheEU’s largest stablecoin issuers, including Tether and Circle, may not be able to operate within the European Union.
