Charles Hoskinson has ranked the cryptocurrency YouTube channel “Altcoin Daily” as the top cryptocurrency news media in terms of fair treatment of Cardano. Coincidentally, the YouTube channel leading the highly impartial investigation into media bias is…Altcoin Daily.
In the video, Hoskinson emphasized that the positive review from the media was not “just because we’re doing an interview.”
In fact, according to the co-founder of Cardano and Ethereum, “Altcoin Daily has a huge audience, you guys have been friendly, you are good people, you are trying to do things right and accurately.”
Altcoin Daily has 1.48 million subscribers and produces videos with clickbait titles.
Hoskinson then rated CoinDesk as a B grade, stating that they are accurate and fair in reporting hard forks. Hoskinson had considered acquiring the publisher last year and claimed in the interview that he gave up on the acquisition because “we found that their expectations didn’t match.”
Hoskinson ranked Lex Fridman and Joe Rogan’s podcasts as S tier alongside Altcoin Daily. However, he categorized Crypto Banter, Bankless, and “mainstream media” as D tier.
He claimed that the host of “Crypto Banter” likes Luna and FTX, while hating Cardano, and described Bankless as “jerks.” He said that Bankless “are not legitimate people” and they “aren’t actually interested in having a rational honest conversation about Cardano.”
He then discussed the political and philosophical narratives of the “mainstream media,” describing the agenda they follow as, “we like the people in the White House right now, so what we’re going to do is anti-crypto.”
He said, “If you’re going to talk about something, approach the conversation with a beginner’s mind, try to understand and acknowledge what your biases are,” and then described his biases with cryptocurrencies. He did not mention any potential biases in the Altcoin Daily rankings.
It is currently unclear why “Altcoin Daily” did not include Protos in Hoskinson’s grading list, but we can confirm that the newsroom is annoyed by this.
