Keith Gill’s dog-themed tweet has stimulated the rise in prices of GME, pet emojis, and related stocks. Dog-themed emojis rose by 2.2%, while cat-themed emojis rose by 16.2%.
Retail investor Keith Gill, also known as Roaring Kitty, is famous for his influential tweets that often affect the stock of American video game company GameStop (GME) and the GameStop-inspired Solana (SOL) memecoin – GME.
However, this time, Gill’s post had a broader impact on the market. It immediately caused GME and other major pet care stocks, as well as pet memecoins, to rise in value on the leaderboard.
Roaring Kitty is back! On June 27th, Gill shared a tweet with a cartoon image of a dog’s side face sticking out its tongue, without any explanation.
Despite Gill’s tweet not involving any other content, the market value of dog-themed emojis skyrocketed to $36 billion based on a 2.2% rise in just 24 hours.
In contrast, the market value of cat-themed memecoins rose to $2.4 billion, with a 16.2% increase during the same period.
Impact beyond expectations
At the same time, some pet-related stocks, such as Chewy, Inc. and PetMed Express, Inc., also recorded significant percentage growth. However, these gains were short-lived.
As expected, GameStop (GME) stock continued to soar on the chart, rising by 3.68% at the time of writing.
As memecoin GME usually reflects the stock price of GME, it also rose by 14.57% in the past 24 hours. The bullishness of the memecoin was confirmed by the RSI on the 4-hour chart, which remained above the neutral level.
Strange things
Despite many of the above memecoins performing well, the top dog-inspired memecoins – Dogecoin [DOGE] and Shiba Inu [SHIB] – only gained the lowest increase of 3.4% and 1.2%, respectively.
On the other hand, top cat-inspired memecoins, such as Mog Coin (Mog) and Michi (Michi), rose significantly by 25.9% and 38.65%, respectively, in the past 24 hours.
Finally, it is worth noting that AMBCrypto’s analysis of Santiment data confirms the positive sentiment surrounding these four memecoins, as indicated by their RSI trends.
